Since all of the countries in africa with streetview are spread out I keep guessing the wrong ones and it costs a lot of points I would like tips
I’m no pro in any means but first make sure you know which African countries are in Google Street View:
To start off I always use the sun meta to quickly eliminate the top half of the continent (Nigeria, Ghana, senegal etc)
If the sun meta doesn’t work you can also look at the driving sides. Southeastern Africa drives on the left side of the road, while the rest of the continent drives on the right side:
With just this info you are set to get a very solid guess in Africa. The only way you could mess up now is with Kenya or Tunisia which are in their own corners compared to the other regions.
For Kenya specifically, Plonkit has a great guide. Citing them:
Kenya is mostly covered in Generation 4 pickup truck coverage. Most trucks are blurred out, but sometimes you can see parts of the car, which can be many different colors, or a snorkel.
Outer lines in Kenya will always be solid white, while inner lines will be yellow and either solid or dashed.
And for Tunisia it’s very deserty almost middle eastern and has Arabic on the signs which should help you differentiate it.
Hope this helps as a rough beginners guide!
Thanks!
about Tunisia : arabic mixed with french this is veeeery specific
Senegal : it’s quite desertish + the north + french as well
Kinea and uganda : the soil is red ,
comparing with Nigeria and Ghana ; for me they are quite neutral and specific+ english
Namibia : desert and south
South africa is south africa hahhahhhahaaa
i am beginner , that’s what i know . Good Luck !!
A little bit more specific
Tunisia: Is famous for the orange plates and the follow cars
(Note there are more 3 more follow cars, but this is a little bit more common)
Tunisian signs are distinct due to the white background with a black border combined with both arabic and english names of places.
Rwanda: drives on the RIGHT.
Mostly you can see a big blurred truck
a white (rarely a brown-greyish) truck can also be seen
Nigeria:
Drives on the Right ( Similar to Rwanda)
The car in nigeria is also blurred but unlike Rwanda, the car is slightly visible.
Sometimes the car can be entirely blurred out in some regions
Most important clue for Nigeria is the follow car ( This is commonly found, but not visible in every location)
Kenya: Drives on the LEFT
Though there are many clues the most simple is in the car.
Most locations can be seen with a car with this antenna in the center
or with a snorkel
also ghana and south africa have smallcam. tho ghanas isnt extensive
I’m also a begginer and I want to add something. In Nigeria usually a police car follows the Google car. And in South Africa houses have high security, some houses even has concrete fences.
Teşekkürler
ye also shitcam ng doesnt have follow car
