let add display names.
DISCLAIMER!: if a user is banned silenced or even acc deleted/set to anon then the display name will be disabled for that specific users which means any display names they made or got set to will be disabled or hidden or turned off until they are back.
btw follower verison take priority over global verison by default can be toggleable in settings
also no you can’t just add anything that break the forum rules to the display names it will still be affected by the filter.
this also only applies to the forum to avoid gameplay confusion.
for the follower version there can be a setting where a follower has to manually request to give u a display name while also showing what they want to change your name to

follower version: requires both users to be following each other. both users can set a display name for each other. if user 1 set a display name for user 2 then user 1 will see a /display name next to user2 username in channels topics and bios. for example user 1 will see “meomaranti-hack/mar” which btw the display name will be in gray. and user 2 is fully aware of this because they will be notified about it AND when they look at user 1 they will see (refers to you as mar) under their username which is also labeled in gray this applies as the same thing to both user if they both set each other display names. this does NOT affect link,mention,quotes as they will be their default self to avoid bugs.

global version: basically the same thing. when you set one for yourself everyone will instead see still is highlighted in gray the display name next to ur user (meomaranti-hack/mar) but under their user it will instead say (prefer to be called display name) or in other words (prefer to be called mar) still in gray btw this does NOT take priority over follower version by default.
display names is a great addition to the social forum which can encourage friendship, communication and even trust in people for the community which can also be fun for others!
