WorldGuessr forum and game fairly laggy when navigating menus

Platform: web, desktop firefox (mobile seems fine)

What happened: fairly laggy when opening and scrolling through menus. I assume firefox is rerendering the background image when an element changes in any way

What I expected: buttery smooth navigation

Steps to reproduce:
1a. Scroll anywhere on worldguessr.forum, type anything in a text box on the home page

1b. Navigate to any of the following menus in worldguessr.com

Potential Cause: I assume this is the cause for forum. For the game I got no clue

Very good bug report I gotta say.

My laptop can personally handle it fine on safari though (Device is MacBook Air that is updated.)

The leaderboard has always been slow for me though

Works fine on chromium browsers for me, just a css quirk for firefox.

yeah leaderboard slow everything else ok and my microsoft computer

I pushed a fix for this, could you try and let me know if it seems better now? Especially the leaderboard should feel smoother.

I’d say only marginally better for the leaderboard. Smoother but a noticeable delay. Everything else is still laggy.

I’ll take a look, sorry about that. Could you let me know what device your on so I can test it better? It’s a bit hard to fix bugs like these when my game is buttery smooth :sweat_smile:

Device is a Samsung Galaxy book 2, hardware acceleration off on firefox.
